Commissioning a piece is a very personal and exciting experience. The process begins with an introductory consultation where a meeting to discuss what the client is looking for and brainstorming  preliminary ideas takes place. We encourage clients to bring along images of designs that inspire them, as well as to have an idea of the types of stones they want to use and a budget in mind. Any fine jewellery no longer in use may be put towards the commission.

A first draft is then presented, either in person or via email, with a few quick sketches of design options to choose from. This is where we establish if we are going in the right direction, and ask clients to select a maximum of three options which will then be fully illustrated and rendered.

When complete, the rendered illustrations will be presented in person (for added convenience we may visit you to do so). The hand-drawn  renders are to scale and therefore give an accurate idea of what the final piece will look like. This is where we finalise elements of the design such as proportions and profiles. A final quote is drawn up on selection of the final design.

A 50% deposit is required on acceptance of the quote in order to begin work on a custom piece. Please note that any changes requested after this point may incur additional costs. The balance will be due on completion of the order. In the event clients decide not to go ahead with the commission, there will be a design fee applicable for the time put into each render. Production can take up to two weeks from quote approval. The final piece will be beautifully presented, and we always look forward to the joyous reaction as we unveil custom creations!

Approximately 14 - 21 working days for a new piece to be made up, depending on the nature of the design and availability of required items such as stones & chain.

Our jewellery pieces are expertly crafted using 9, 14 or 18 carat yellow, rose or white gold, platinum, and sterling silver, as well as precious and semi precious gems. We have a handpicked selection of loose gems in stock for you to choose from, and if you have something specific in mind we will source what you are looking for.

All items purchased from us will be beautifully packaged.  We have three different white & gold boxes, small luxury drawstring pouches and high-quality white & gold gift bags, all finished off with gold ribbon.

We use the British sizing system for rings. Any first fit for a commissioned piece as well as stock items purchased will be done free of charge. Any subsequent sizings will be billed accordingly.

Like any precious item, jewellery pieces are delicate and require a basic amount of care.

Store jewellery made from precious metals in cushioning material to avoid scratches.

From time to time, gently wash the piece using  a soft toothbrush and a dilute mix of liquid soap and warm water, making sure to rinse it off and dry thoroughly when done – better still, pop in to our studio for a complimentary clean.

Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Over time through continued exposure to air, the copper component begins to tarnish. Sometimes this occurs as a desirable patina, but other times it blackens in an unattractive way. To avoid this happening, store silver jewellery in closed containers to limit exposure to the elements.

Pearls are vulnerable to perspiration, so try to wipe them with a soft cloth before putting them away.

Finally, be careful when applying perfume, cosmetics or hair spray whilst wearing jewellery - chemicals in these substances can cause jewellery to tarnish and organic gems such as pearls to lose their lustre. Rather adorn yourself as a final touch!

Dare to be adventurous with your jewellery – we love mixing metals - either together in a piece, or by wearing two different coloured metals together. We also believe jewellery can never be too fancy! If you feel like wearing a statement cocktail ring to work, do it!  It is a means to express yourself and your mood. Whilst less is often described as more, sometimes more can be more! Layer and stack to your heart's content, or be as minimal as you like - wearing jewellery is first and foremost about you.
